Dexter L. Reaves, born in Latta, SC is currently a resident of Greenville County. He is a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Simpsonville, South Carolina and spends the majority of his time with his son Daylin and wife Kira. 
Dexter holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice with a double minor in Political Science and History from Benedict College in Columbia, South Carolina.
He spends a great deal of his time serving the Greater Greenville County Community. His law enforcement experience ranges from being a Detention Officer with the Greenville County Detention Center to Police Officer with the City of Greer.
Dexter also served as the Boot Camp Director for the award winning, world renowned Greer Police Department Boot Camp Program. He also served the Greenville County Sheriff's Office as a Deputy. Dexter also served as a Police Officer with the Travelers Rest Police Department and Spartanburg Methodist College Public Safety for a brief period.
Dexter is currently employed with Greenville County Schools as an Intervention Specialist at Southside High School. His role is to conduct prevention and awareness programs pertaining to violence, drugs and gang activity both in the school as well as in the community. In addition to the above, he acts as an ombudsman for administration.
He founded the first "Stop the Violence Teen Summit." This summit was held at the Westend Development Center on May 24, 2006. The purpose of the "Teen Summit" was to address teen and gang violence.
